4 NovGorgeous Deerhurst Resort Wedding
I first chatted with Jackie and Eric about 8 months before their wedding, and we had great first meeting – lots of laughs and a great exchange of ideas. They shared their plan of having the wedding on their dock, then heading around the corner to Deerhurst Resort, in Huntsville at the heart of Muskoka, for the reception.
As the weather was turning blustery and colder, we did a site visit to the lake to view the dock and come up with some ideas on how to actually execute the ceremony without any guests or bridal party falling into the lake. We came up with great floor (dock?) plan. We would build a 4 post arbor, dressed with birch logs, billowing white chiffon, and rustic flowers and foliage. The outer edge of the walkway would have a series of shepherd hooks with willow spheres draped with foliage and flowers. And 2 large floor vases filled with birch logs, topped with hydrangeas and foliage would mark the ceremony site. The registration table and musicians would be housed on the Party Barge.
Over at the reception, dinner would be held in the Rotunda room. We dressed the 15′ tall windows in white curtains, created a curved head table to snug into the round outer wall, and covered it with a fresh coral lamour, hand-pleated table linen. Guest tables were dressed with Navy and White striped table linens, with a lush floral design sitting atop a riser of birch logs. Lots of moss, foliage, gold candles and coral flowers sat at the base of the arrangement. Guests entered into the gorgeous room through a coral draped doorway.
Looking back on the fabulous images, all captured by Reverie Studios, I am struck by all the smiles, laughter, and pure joy showing on everyone’s faces. A beautiful Muskoka Wedding!
